Slowing Down.
Life is changing.
The hastiness of the morning has disappeared, the streets highlight emptiness, and busyness has come to a halt.
In this unique time, we’re being called to slow down.
I’m finding joy in the simplicity of stillness. My morning starts with the aroma of coffee. I can now sit – instead of rush – through my cup, and delight in every sip. I have time for a morning walk before getting ready for work. As I stroll along my street, I notice flower bulbs coming through the ground, acting as a humble rebirth amidst our collective uncertainty. Best of all, I have soul-filled conversations with my fiancé that warm my heart.
All of this occurs prior to opening my work laptop.
Now, I’m feeling more human than ever. Being slow has allowed me to examine my reoccurring observations. As a result, I’ve listed my favorite realizations below. Maybe it could help you find peace in our blend of stillness and uncertainty:
With death apparent, the earth still chooses to be reborn through flowers
The silence in savoring a morning cup of coffee is a religious experience
The birds and I share a collective happiness when the sun rises
Offering a smile to a stranger is a symbol of brotherhood
Morning routines offer a sense of stability as the world remains imbalanced
Having meals together is a cozy type of togetherness
More time for reading creates space for thought-provoking experiences
Creativity can be cultivated while simply daydreaming out the window
A daily gratitude prayer has the energy equivalence of espresso
Indoor plants breathe new life into a stagnant space
What will you discover as you slow down?
